Leadership Points

What are leadership points and why are they so important?

Leadership points were created to get FBLA members more involved in their chapters. They also encourage the building of leadership skills and help members establish connections with FBLA.

FBLA is no ordinary club. It is a promise to your future self. By joining FBLA, you have already proven that you care about your future and success.

However, the leading doesn't end there. To avoid letting FBLA be "just another club to add to my resume", each member must earn 15 leadership points during the school year to be recognized as an official member. The official membership fees members pay get sent to the District, State, and National Board strictly for competing and conference-attending purposes.

At the end of the year, there will be an FBLA Award Ceremony (and induction).
Members who earn 15 leadership points (or more) in one school year will be formally inducted and receive official membership certificates.

Members who earn 20 leadership points (or more) will be awarded FBLA pins as well as the official membership certificate.

There will be medals,  FBLA merchandise, a membership certificate, and FBLA pin awarded to the top 3 leadership point recipients. These are given to students who have been the most involved in the chapter, shown the most dedication, and have earned the most amount of points during the school year.

Our First Field Trip- Bernie Simpkins Entrepreneurial Lecture Series

West Shore FBLA had its first field trip in November! We went to the King Center and listened to an inspirational speaker, Brent Menswar.

Members learned the importance of admitting vulnerability and asking for help. After all, how can we grow if we never ask the right questions? Even Harvard students have tutors. Being able to ask for help is a valuable leadership characteristic.

Dressing For Success

FBLA members are learning the importance of not only acting professionally, but dressing professionally as well. Dress-For-Success Days take place on the first Thursday of every month, giving FBLA members the opportunity to look fancy and earn a leadership point.
